Key Responsibilities
Calculate and deliver Scope 3 GHG emissions estimations to support materiality assessments and disclosures.
Develop and maintain Scope 3 GHG emissions estimation methodologies and resources
Provide technical support on product carbon footprinting models, methodologies, reporting and verification for United States and international locations.
Calculate and deliver product carbon footprints to meet business and commercial needs.
Develop and maintain product carbon footprinting models and resources
Lead reviews of asset product carbon footprint models, data submissions, standard operating procedures, and data quality assessments.
Coordinate product carbon footprinting reviews with assets.
Provide technical support on company carbon intensity metrics data collection, methodologies, reporting, and verification
Calculate and deliver company carbon intensity metrics for disclosures.
Develop and maintain carbon intensity metric resources (e.g., standard operating procedures).
Support carbon intensity metric reviews, substantiation, methodology updates, and forecasting.
Support third-party assurance of GHG emissions, product carbon footprints, and carbon intensity metrics
Deliver general training on GHG emissions, product carbon footprints, and carbon intensity metrics
Monitor and review emerging GHG accounting and product carbon footprinting regulations, standards, and best practices to assess business impacts, develop internal viewpoints, prepare responses, and support implementation.
Collaborate with health, environment and safety specialists, operations/maintenance personnel, engineering, finance, supply chain, and other key stakeholders to gather data and ensure accurate calculation, reporting and verification of GHG emissions, product carbon footprints and carbon intensity metrics.
Establish and maintain strong working relationships with internal stakeholders.
Support further improvements in enterprise GHG, PCF and carbon intensity metric data integrity, timely reporting and data transparency.
Support development, maintenance and improvements to digital tools needed for GHG and product carbon footprinting accounting/reporting.
Support assets in United States and international locations with GHG/air compliance programs as needed (e.g., CARB Large Spark Ignition, Clean Truck Check, and Off-Road (Diesel) Regulation programs)
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, or related field
Experience with GHG emissions estimation for the energy / oil and gas industry
Experience and familiarity with GHG Protocol Scope 3 Standard and emissions estimation
Experience and familiarity with GHG Protocol Scope 1 and 2 Standards and emissions estimation
Experience and familiarity with life cycle carbon accounting and reporting standards / methodologies
Experience with GHG reporting / disclosures and Environmental Social Governance (ESG)
Leadership, communication, strategic thinking, and program/project management skills
Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions, motivate self, influence without authority, and provide mentoring/training to end users.
Strong Microsoft Office application skills especially using Excel , PowerBI
Ability to accommodate work schedule to collaborate with colleagues in other time zones
Minimal to no travel required
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree (e.g., masters) in environmental science, engineering, or related field
Multiple years (3+) experience with Scope 1, 2 and 3 GHG emissions estimation and reporting
Multiple years (3+) experience with life cycle assessment and/or product carbon footprinting
Multiple years (3+) experience working with or in the oil and gas industry
Experience using, developing and improving environmental datasets, processes, and digital tools
Experience with SharePoint and PowerBI
Knowledge of industry best practices, global standards, and emerging regulations
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm
