
About the position:
The Fixed Equipment Integrity Engineer is part of the Fixed Equipment Team at the Chevron ENGINE Center and is responsible for developing the Fixed Equipment Asset Strategies in support of safe and reliable operation of Chevron’s LNG facilities. The role works closely with the Asset Integrity Engineers, Inspectors, Material Engineers, Reliability Engineers, Technical Departments (Chemical/Process and Mechanical/Design Engineering), Maintenance Departments, Operations Departments, and Business Unit Management and Asset Leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
The Fixed Equipment Integrity Engineer will develop and refresh fixed equipment asset strategies for facility fixed equipment, which will include the use of quantitative RBI (API 581 Risk Based Methodology). To achieve this, the Fixed Equipment Integrity Engineer will:
Develop asset strategies for fixed equipment, utilizing qualitative and quantitative Risk Based Inspection methodology.
Collate and analyze equipment integrity data to support Risk Based Inspection (RBI) review.
Partner across functional teams to gather required information required for RBI Review.
Generate Expert Group pre-read material with recommended updates to the Asset Strategy.
Partner across functional teams to provide discipline specific inputs.
Responsibility includes accurate identification and recording of damage mechanisms, susceptible locations and expected severity. Definition of appropriate inspection interval commensurate with risk. Recommend inspection and maintenance activities to manage asset risk at a Fixed Equipment Asset level.
Schedule and assist in the facilitation of the Expert Group, including responsibility for appropriate discipline engineering input.
Coordinate review and approval of new or revised asset strategies.
Ensure that the outcomes of the Expert Group process are recorded and actioned including, updating the IDMS (Visions) and CMMS (JDE) impacted by the new or revised asset strategy.
Required Qualifications:
Mechanical or Materials Engineering degree, or similar, from an appropriate certified university
On-stream-inspection experience. Turnaround inspection experience. Familiarity in supporting Operations within the LNG industry is desirable.
Knowledge of API 580/581 or similar risk-based inspection methodology analysis and implementation for fixed equipment. Demonstrated proficiency with the use and maintenance of Information Data Management Systems (IDMS) databases. Knowledge of fixed equipment inspection codes, requirements and practices, non-destructive examination technologies and interpretation and analysis of inspection data. Knowledge of fixed equipment design and maintenance practices in processing facilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
10+ years of relevant experience providing Fixed Equipment support and analysis in a Complex Processing Facility (CPF) operating environment such as a Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Facility, Refinery or Chemicals facility.
Familiarity with Metegrity Visions IDMS is favorable. Knowledge of LNG process units operations and prevalent damage mechanisms is beneficial.
Experience leading others is desirable.
Chevron ENGINE supports global operations, supporting business requirements across the world. Accordingly, the work hours for employees will be aligned to support business requirements. The standard work week will be Monday to Friday. Working hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm or 1.30pm to 10.30pm.
