ERP Release Manager

Chevron Global Business Services (GBS), located in Buenos Aires (Puerto Madero), Argentina, is accepting applications for the position of ERP Release Manager.
The ERP Release Manager is responsible for governing and coordinating the end-to-end release lifecycle across SAP environments, including ECC and S/4HANA. The role ensures the successful planning, execution, and deployment of ongoing support releases, enhancement projects, upgrades, migration activities, and emergency fixes while minimizing business disruption. Working closely with technical teams, project stakeholders, and business partners, this position drives release excellence, compliance, risk management, and continuous process improvement across the SAP landscape.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Define, develop, and maintain release strategies, schedules, and calendars across multiple SAP environments (ECC and S/4HANA).
- Coordinate release planning activities among SAP functional teams, developers, infrastructure teams, QA, security, and business stakeholders.
- Lead and govern the SAP change management process, ensuring all releases comply with established approval and governance requirements.
- Manage release deployments, upgrades, enhancements, patches, and emergency fixes with minimal impact to business operations.
- Partner with QA teams to ensure appropriate testing activities, including regression, integration, and user acceptance testing.
- Identify, assess, mitigate, and communicate release-related risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Maintain release documentation, deployment plans, rollback procedures, release notes, and post-implementation reports.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through process optimization, automation, and adoption of release management best practices.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, audit requirements, security standards, and regulatory expectations.
- Coordinate release activities supporting SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration programs and transformation initiatives.
- Facilitate post-release reviews and lessons learned sessions to improve future release performance.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all release-related communications across ERP stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in Release Management, Change Management, ERP Operations, or SAP Program Delivery.
- Experience managing releases within large-scale SAP environments, including ECC and/or S/4HANA.
- Strong understanding of software release lifecycle management, deployment processes, and change governance.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and managing multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, and organizational skills.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications in complex global environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA migration or transformation projects.
- Knowledge of ITIL, Agile, DevOps, and related delivery methodologies.
- Experience with SAP Solution Manager, Jira, ServiceNow, or similar release and change management tools.
- Understanding of SAP Basis, transport management, testing methodologies, and deployment practices.
- Experience driving process automation and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Professional certifications related to IT Service Management, Project Management, Agile, or SAP are preferred.
