Chevron’s Business Support Center (BASSC), located in Buenos Aires, is accepting applications for the position of Application Engineer - Procurement. Successful candidates will join the IT Organization, which is part of a multifunction service center with a workforce of more than 1800 employees that deliver business services and solutions to the corporation across the globe.
The QA/QC senior automation engineer plays a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of software products through automated and manual testing processes. The role helps reduce the time and effort required for manual testing, thereby improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the software development lifecycle. The position partners with software development teams to ensure critical public facing web sites (chevronwithtechron.com / caltex.com / chevronlubricants.com/) within other application remain reliable.
Job Description Responsibilities:
• Lead QA efforts across the software development lifecycle, including test planning, test case design, execution, defect management, and retrospectives.
• Drive manual, automation, and performance testing initiatives.
• Document and track bugs, anomalies, and test results, ensuring clear reproduction steps and progress updates.
• Collaborate with developers to perform root cause analysis of production issues.
• Identify areas for improvement in the software development process and propose solutions.
• Adapt to changing priorities and circumstances while maintaining a focus on business needs.
• Continuously improve testing processes, quality, and efficiency.
• Maintain accurate documentation and change controls.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or comparable field
• At least 6+ years of QA engineering experience in Automation and familiar with Backend Testing + Coding
• Experience in writing clear and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Self-motivated with expertise in testing procedures, test case design, and technical research.
• Self-driven, can work with minimal supervision
• Proficiency in automated testing frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Pytest) and API testing with strong HTTP, WebSocket, and JSON knowledge.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills: Person must be able to communicate clearly
• Ability to prioritize tasks and quickly adjust in a rapidly changing environment
• Team player who exhibits effective interpersonal skills with a collaborative style
