The Senior Business Analyst – Competitive Performance evaluates improvement opportunities, develops robust business cases, and tracks the value delivered across the organization. The role works closely with operations, finance, and leadership to analyze performance drivers, quantify financial impact, and maintain accurate project information within performance systems.
The position also strengthens organizational capabilities by modeling and promoting high‑performance behaviors (direct, decisive, accountable, results‑focused), leading workshops, and helping teams adopt competitive performance practices. The analyst develops deep fluency in CP concepts to ensure consistent and sustainable implementation across Venezuela.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
1. Business Analysis & Case Development
Develop structured business cases with clear scope, assumptions, impact, and financial projections.
Build and review financial models (cash flow, savings, production impact).
Validate assumptions and ensure alignment with company performance targets.
2. Performance & Value Tracking
Define value‑tracking approaches, KPIs, and measurement logic.
Compare actual project results against expectations and support financial reporting.
Monitor key performance indicators for Venezuela (base business + initiative impact) and use benchmarking to identify gaps and improvement opportunities.
3. Data & Systems Stewardship
Maintain accurate project data (status, expected value, actuals, milestones) in performance tools.
Partner with project owners to resolve data gaps and ensure reliability of dashboards and reports.
4. Support to Organizations
Consolidates project information in tracking systems system access.
Supports teams in quantifying and articulating financial impacts.
5. Performance Behaviors, CP Fluency & Sustainability
Model and promote CP performance behaviors: direct, decisive, accountable, results‑focused.
Facilitate workshops and onboarding sessions to strengthen CP fluency and ways of working.
Ensure CP concepts are applied consistently across the Venezuela organization.
6. Facilitation & Performance Reviews
Support preparation and data gathering for the Performance Office Meeting (progress, milestones, risks, HIMs, value) related to CP initiatives.
Validate all financial and performance data used in reviews and support meeting facilitation.
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in financial or business analysis.
3. Strong financial modeling and business case development skills.
4. Experience analyzing KPIs and linking them to improvement opportunities.
5. Ability to ensure high data quality in performance or project tracking tools.
6. Advanced Excel and analytical problem‑solving capabilities.
7. Ability to present financial insights clearly to technical and non‑technical audiences.
8. Strong interpersonal, communication, and active‑listening skills; able to work across diverse teams and cultures, adapt communication styles, and foster alignment.
9. Advanced English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience in performance improvement, planning, or operational analysis.
2. Experience working with joint‑venture or partner organizations
3. Familiarity with dashboards or portfolio tracking tools.
4. Technical background within the oil and gas industry.
