Overview:

The Principal Architect for the OT Product Line owns the target architecture, standards, and guardrails for Chevron's operational technology estate. Scope covers Process Control Network (PCN) environments at Level 3 and below, along with non-PCN field technologies such as IIoT, edge compute, connected worker, OT data, and extended reality. The role is the architecture decision point for OTPL under Policy 564: it determines the architecture assurance outcome for new and changed OT solutions and provides architecture concurrence ahead of cyber assurance and production readiness.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

·       Owns the OTPL target architecture, technology standards, and reference architectures across all OT capabilities.

·       Determines the architecture assurance outcome and provides Policy 564 and Policy 575 architecture concurrence for OTPL solutions, including conditional concurrence with defined next steps.

·       Decides where an approved solution may, and may not, be reused, and holds the capability boundary through named, expiring exceptions where a site cannot yet adopt the standard.

·       Directs requesters to existing supported products before new products are introduced into the portfolio.

·       Stewards architecture records and lifecycle status for OTPL business applications in the CMDB, moving applications to operational only after assurance is complete and retiring unowned or duplicate records.

Required Qualifications:

• Typically 10 or more years in operational technology, industrial automation, or IT infrastructure, including significant time in architecture roles.
• Proven experience governing architecture across a large, multi-site OT portfolio.
• Experience with brownfield and greenfield OT deployments, M&A integration, and international sites.

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or equivalent experience.

• 10 years of demonstrable career progression with the Operational Technology disciplines.

• 5 Years direct experience in an architectural capacity

Relocation may be considered.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.
