Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Reliability Asset Integrity Consultant through January 27, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (Central Time).  

The Reliability Asset Integrity Consultant will serve as an overarching advisor for all groups and disciplines within the Reliability Engineering organization.  This position will provide expert, technical support related to fixed equipment integrity, materials & corrosion, pipeline integrity and all aspects of production operations and turnaround support as it relates to asset integrity, reliability and efficiency.

This position will provide expert, technical guidance to Facilities Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance groups and RMG and will play a key support role in plant turnarounds. Demonstrates strong mentoring capabilities.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

Broad Experience: Master practitioner level competency in asset integrity / reliability engineering / maintenance management systems / processes / tools including Root Cause Failure Analysis, Failure Modes and Effects (FEMA), Asset Strategy development.  Track record of improving the reliability of operating assets and increasing plant availability.  Demonstrated impact in optimization of preventative and predictive maintenance programs against program cost.  Experienced in practical fixed equipment / pipeline inspection, fabrication, and repair strategies.  Engineering degree or equivalent preferred in or related to materials and corrosion, fixed equipment remediation, inspection and repair. Emphasis on experience in sour service oil and gas production and processing. Cross functional business experience a plus.

Technical Requirements: Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of plant processes and their relation to facility equipment integrity and reliability. Considered an OPCO and industry wide expert in materials selection, corrosion mitigation, and welding in highly sour environments. Utilizes sophisticated engineering analysis and evaluation techniques, reliability methods and process understanding to solve complex, multi-discipline issues.

Considered an industry expert in corrosion mitigation, wellheads, pipeline, structural, welding, and materials for sour service. Analyzes and resolves complex and non-routine corrosion/chemical/metallurgical problems. Utilizes significant insight of reliability, engineering, and process knowledge to troubleshoot equipment problems and prevent incidents. Performs complex materials engineering analysis.  Consulted by engineers to resolve complicated problems associated with equipment. Solves unusual or complex pipeline problems requiring comprehensive understanding of discipline; integrates understanding of other technologies and customer constraints.  Ability to functionally review, comment, edit and steer the outcome of system-wide procedures and specifications. 

Team Work/ Coaching/ Mentoring: Fosters cooperation and collaboration among individuals in a work unit as well as across department and other boundaries. Appropriately shares and delegates work responsibilities with reporting Supervisors/Leads. Develops a common understanding of, and consensus on, key issues and performance measures. Helps resolve conflicts constructively. Reinforces behaviors that improve teamwork. Conducts efficient, effective meetings and interactions that produce results. Demonstrated experience to work closely with national supervisors and specialists during program development as well as day-to-day work activities.  Provides mentoring and demonstrates role model behaviors for work force development. Conducts local training in materials and corrosion engineering.

Required Qualifications

  • Engineering degree in one or more of the following: materials & corrosion, fixed equipment remediation, inspection, repairs; failure analysis and fitness for service assessments, pipeline integrity management. Emphasis on experience in sour service oil and gas production and processing.
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience
  • Company recognized SME in Equipment materials / degradation assessment.
  • Deep knowledge and / or hands-on experience in Project management, Maintenance, Operations, Engineering
  • Skilled level experience as mentor.

Relocation may be considered.

Special Considerations:

Please be advised that the successful candidate will be expected to rotate from their host (Kazakhstan) country back to their Point of Origin country (home payroll country - US) for the duration of the assignment in accordance with the Chevron Rotational expatriate assignment policy. Rotation schedule is 28 / 28 day.

All rotational expats are subject to Fitness for Duty and location requirements.  All contingencies must be cleared prior to mobilization.  

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered. Chevron regrets that it is unable to sponsor United States employment Visas or consider individuals on time-limited Visa status for this position. 

Kazakhstan Visa will be sponsored by Host organization (Tengizchevroil); however successful conclusion of the visa process is required to complete the hiring process.
