LNG Originators are primarily responsible for originating, negotiating and executing term sale and purchase opportunities for the assigned markets/counterparties. An LNG professional with strong commercial acumen, material transactional experience, and problem-solving skills. Lead and/or support price review negotiations, as required.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
· Originates, negotiates, and executes term supply and demand opportunities in the assigned markets that can range from traditional term marketing to joint ventures, strategic alliances, and/or value chain infrastructure investments.
· Represents Chevron in front of governments and commercial entities throughout their assigned market areas.
· Expected to understand how to find, evaluate, structure, finance, and close new opportunities.
· Identifies appropriate economic evaluation, proposal development, and leads negotiations leading to capture.
· Contributes to developing LNG marketing strategies for term sales and ensures activities are integrated into the overall Chevron LNG Strategy.
· Develops and manages enduring external relationships with key customers and partners to support GSAT, CBD, Upstream and CNE activities and to enhance the flow and application of market intelligence.
· This activity is often with limited in-country organizational support in new markets and requires a high degree of self-reliance/self-starting and independent action.
· Understands standard terms and conditions in LNG agreements and how they protect the company from risks and liabilities.
· Ensures all agreements comply with company policies and procedures as well as local regulations.
· Manages development of candidates in more junior roles as practicable.
Required Qualifications:
· Undergraduate or Graduate degree
· 5 years LNG transactional experience (e.g., Trader or Originator) + 5 years other related experience
· Extensive travel required
Preferred Qualifications:
· 10+ years LNG transactional experience (e.g., Trader or Originator)
· Experience negotiating transactions linked to European gas indexes (e.g., TTF, THE, etc)
· Network of LNG-industry relationships in the European market areas
Relocation Options:
Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.
International Considerations:
Expatriate assignmentswill not beconsidered.
