The IT Project Manager will play a pivotal role in aligning local digital strategies with Chevron enterprise goals. This individual will connect diverse stakeholders with business solution developers to ensure the delivery of digital capabilities that enhance performance.
The IT Project Manager is responsible for providing fit-for-purpose coaching to the Product Line Manager and Product Owners by role modeling the agile mindset, behavior, and practices, and supporting portfolio and product line roadmap development. Key responsibilities include orchestrating a value-centric portfolio of digital work, participating in platform ceremonies, and managing risks during product development.
The IT Project Manager will act as an escalation point to address product line risks and barriers, facilitate/lead business case development, and ensure stakeholder communication. This role also involves collaborating with the Digital Managers and stakeholders to create strategic roadmaps, support backlog prioritization, and provide technical and business knowledge.
Additionally, the IT Project Manager will champion Agile and Lean portfolio management practices, ensuring the deployment of impactful digital solutions and promoting digital culture and Operational Excellence. The individual must possess excellent communication skills, foster positive relationships, ensure inclusive treatment of others, and promote continuous improvement. Key aspects include educating teams on Chevron data standards, encouraging standardization and re-use of digital products, and supporting change management initiatives.
This role requires broad IT technical knowledge and the ability to lead through influence and negotiation.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or other relevant fields.
10+ years experience in technical project management, preferably with experience in handling complex projects such as ERP implementation or projects of similar complexity
Experience in Agile Safe framework
Project management and project leadership skills
Experience working with management at all levels of the organization
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Organizational and problem-solving skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to changing project conditions.
Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse environment
Proficient use of project management tools such as Microsoft Project or ADO.
