Chevron operates through two subsidiaries in the Philippines. Our Downstream company is Chevron Philippines Inc. We also operate a business processes support organization through Chevron Holdings Inc.
There are two Chevron companies operating in the Philippines: Chevron Holdings Incorporated (CHI) and Chevron Philippines Incorporated (CPI).
CHI is a shared services center providing transactional, processing, and consulting services in the areas of finance and accounting, information technology, supply chain management, human resources, downstream customer service and marketing. Established in 1998, CHI serves Chevron affiliates in six continents around the world. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the leading members of the shared services industry in the Philippines.

About the Role
The Software Engineer Technical Lead partners across program level structures necessary to achieve priority objectives, enable business capabilities and achieve digital strategies. Partners with leaders and stakeholders to deliver outcomes. Responds to evolving business needs. Identifies opportunities for improvement in systems, processes, and/or results.
The Technical Lead is responsible for overseeing the technical aspects of a specific set of digital products, ensuring their architecture, development, and maintenance align with business goals while providing technical guidance to development teams, collaborating closely with product managers to translate business needs into technical solutions, and staying abreast of emerging technologies to optimize product performance and scalability. This role oversees the technical team, manages their skills, and ensures successful Agile epic deliveries and operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Technical Vision and Strategy: Define the technical roadmap for the products, including architecture, technology stack, and standards to ensure long-term sustainability and scalability. Ensure prioritization and capacity allocation are done to meet business objectives.
- Product Development Leadership: Leads the technical delivery team to successfully execute assigned work on time and on budget. Ensure solutions delivered are with quality and consistent with Chevron IT Function’s technical standards. Build team alignment, ensuring the team has a clear understanding of business priorities and business case. Support the digital enablement of business workflows. Communicate and reinforce the desired work culture, including a focus on personal and process safety. Recognize accomplishments and team member contributions.
- Technical Design and Architecture: Design and review technical architectures for new features and products, ensuring alignment with the overall product line strategy.
- Product Performance Optimization: Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to improve user experience and system efficiency.
- Stakeholder Management: Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, Platform Technica Manager, and other technical teams to understand requirements, communicate technical considerations, and manage expectations. Ensure prioritization and capacity allocation are done to meet business objectives.
- Technology Evaluation and Adoption: Research and evaluate new technologies to identify potential opportunities for innovation and improvement within the product line.
- Quality Assurance: Oversee quality standards and testing processes to ensure product stability and reliability. Partner with IT Operations organization to ensure reliability and resiliency of the portfolio of applications, supporting customer engagement for testing and escalations as necessary.
- People Management: Manage performance and development of team members. Partner with Tech Hub Talent Lead, Competency Manager, Vendor Management and PDR on resource planning related activities.
- Team Mentorship and Development: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement. Promote best practice and common standards and technology usage within the team.
- IT Operations: Lead the team to provide IT Operations to ensure reliability and resiliency of the portfolio of applications, supporting customer engagement for testing and escalations as necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and provide solution architecture guidance. Your leadership style should improve engagement and motivation to promote innovation, accountability, and professional growth within your team.
A quick learner who can adapt and navigate in a dynamic environment through critical thinking and decision-making skills. Your organizational skills and ability to juggle multiple priorities without compromising quality.
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Able to work effectively across multiple teams and vendors and influence them on strategic goals. You should be able to negotiate towards a Win-Win outcome.
Broad technical IT Experience related to solution performance, reliability, cybersecurity, IT Compliance, outsourcing, modernization and agile delivery methodologies. Offer hands-on technical direction, ensuring solution is scalable, maintainable, and integrates with cutting-edge technologies.
Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications or specialized training in relevant areas will be advantageous.
At least 5 years of experience in a technical lead or similar role. A proven track record of leading teams towards valuable outcomes.
Development experience (e.g. .Net C#, Python, Node.JS, Angular), implementation and hands-on experience on different IT applications/systems (e.g. ServiceNow, Workday). Proficiency with SQL databases, familiarity with Linux/Unix systems, and Windows server environments.
Proficiency in Cloud computing (e.g. Azure), Scripting (e.g. Ansible, BASH, PowerShell) and data analytics will be an added advantage.
