about the role

Chevron Australia has an exciting opportunity for an HSE Environmental Specialist to join the Wheatstone HSE Team - Onslow. Reporting to the Wheatstone HSE Manager, this permanent role will be based residentially in Onslow.

We are looking for a HSE Environmental Specialist to provide HSE advice and guidance to Wheatstone Operations, Maintenance and Supply Chain teams with a strong focus on practical application of Environmental performance, workforce safety, and regulatory engagement. Facilitate incident investigations and learning events using Chevron approved Incident investigation methodologies (e.g., 5-Whys, SAFE, Y-tree a Learning Teams)


Key Responsibilities include:

  • Building productive working relationships across HSE, Business Partners and other support teams (e.g. in Perth across Technical Projects, Maintenance, Turnarounds, Wells, Production Excellence, Environment, Occupational Hygiene and Legacy) to facilitate alignment and execution efficiency of HSE activities and processes

  • Undertaking safeguard assurance verification and validation activities for high-consequence work scopes

To be considered for this role, applicants should have:

  • Demonstrated practical application of Environmental management systems, processes and performance requirements and relevant Western Australian HSE legislation in a field environment

  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority and build respectful and trusted relationships with a variety of stakeholders including site leaders and the broader workforce including frontline personnel and business partners

  • Demonstrated ability to be a visible HSE Environmental professional that adjusts communication styles to influence improvements in Environmental and HSE performance and act as a conduit for the workforce to raise barriers to HSE performance and share learning opportunities
