The Aircraft Operations department for Chevron’s Gulf of America business unit is accepting online applications for the position of Avionics Technician located in Picayune, Mississippi/United States.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, drawings and blueprints
- Familiar with navigating aircraft maintenance manuals and equipment installation manuals.
- Inspection, maintenance, preventative maintenance on aircraft electronics equipment and systems
- Field troubleshooting, analysis and repairs of avionics equipment in company operated aircraft
- Perform certification inspections in accordance with FAR Part 91.411 and 91.413
- Familiarity with communication, navigation, autopilot systems
- Fabricate, repair and install wiring harnesses
- Remove and replace antennae and system components and kits
- Communicate with pilots, AMTs, aircraft and component representatives during troubleshooting
- Ideal candidate would have extensive experience in aircraft electrical and avionics systems troubleshooting.
- Willing to travel to field bases as needed for support.
- 7/7 or 9/80 schedule as needed
Required Qualifications:
- Training from an accredited avionics school or military avionics training
- Five+ years’ experience in avionics/electrical systems installations to include familiarity with proper harness routing, electrical/avionics crimpers and hand tools, terminating connectors, and harness fabrication in accordance with FAR Part 145 repair station regulations
- Helicopter experience preferred, especially on AW139, AW109SP, and S-92 avionics platforms
- FCC GROL License
- Currently has or able to obtain at least an FAA repairman’s license; FAA A&P license is a plus
