Operations Lead directs the daily activities of nine team members in supporting the retail operations of 300+ Company Owned Company Operated (COCO) stations. This role includes audits and loss prevention efforts and ensuring station level compliance with all COCO policies and procedures. The Operations Lead reports findings, offers recommendations, trains field employees on corrective measures, and publishes measurable performance metrics for station performance. Additionally, the Operations Lead drafts, reviews, and edits all communications directed to the field, leads bi-monthly TEAM meetings, and serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on various issues impacting the stations. The Lead participates in multiple projects and policy changes within the organization and represents both field and office positions. Time management Must effectively communicate to all levels of the organization and address operational issues, large and small, are essential. This role can be based either in San Ramon or remotely within California.

  • 35% People Management: Directly supervises team of 9 Ops Specialists. Sets performance objectives and provides continuous performance feedback utilizing the five leadership behaviors. Leads, motivates and supports the Ops Specialists with problem resolution in a time-sensitive and demanding environment. Establish career development plans for all direct reports.

  • 30% Project Management: Project Management duties including managing CDG (countdown to go), overseeing vendor relationships, invoicing and ongoing cost savings initiatives.

  • 20% Communication: Communicating with the field, such as conducting skill ups and developing and distributing weekly communications.

  • 15% Compliance: Ensuring compliance through audit activities, loss prevention measures, and handling NOV matters.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years retail supervisory & training experience with knowledge of retail operations  
  • Well organized, detail-oriented and able to work independently with minimal supervision 
  • Above average problem-solving abilities
  • Intermediate level competency in MS Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills 

  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record and in-force liability insurance 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Chevron Stations, Inc. (CSI) policies and accounting processes 
  • Organizational skills and above average interpersonal skills

Relocation Options:

Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.

International Considerations:

Expatriate assignments will not be considered.

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $77,800 – $133,300. The selected candidate’s compensation will be determined based on their skills, experience, and qualifications.
