Position Overview
We're looking for an Advisor, Audience Insights Analyst to be our specialist in audience development. The ideal candidate will be passionate about understanding people—who they are, what motivates them, and how they interact with our communications. This role is responsible for creating a rich, detailed picture of our key audiences by using a variety of data sources to build profiles, segment groups, and identify key trends. You will be a crucial partner to our communications team, ensuring our strategies are grounded in a deep understanding of our audience.
Key Responsibilities
Audience Development & Profiling: Use a mix of first- and third-party data (e.g., website analytics, social listening tools, market research, and surveys) to develop detailed audience profiles and segments. Translate audience profiles and segments into compelling narratives and personas that help the communications team understand and empathize with key stakeholders.
Behavioral Analysis: Analyze audience behavior across various channels to understand preferences, content consumption habits, and the customer journey using this analysis to inform communication strategies and media placements.
Trend Identification: Identify key demographic, psychographic, and behavioral trends that impact how we communicate with our target audiences.
Data Storytelling: Translate complex data and insights into clear, compelling narratives and visualizations for the communications team and senior leadership.
Strategic Collaboration: Work with the communications team to apply audience insights to content strategy, channel selection, and messaging to improve effectiveness.
Key Skills
Data Analysis & Statistics: Strong proficiency in collecting, cleaning, and analyzing both qualitative and quantitative data.
Data Visualization: Hands-on experience with tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Google Looker Studio to create impactful reports and dashboards.
Proficiency in Analytics Tools: Expertise in web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) and listening tools.
Audience Segmentation: Experience in segmenting audiences based on demographics, psychographics, and behavioral data.
Communication & Storytelling: The ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
Critical Thinking: A natural curiosity to ask "why" and dig deeper into data to uncover the underlying motivations and behaviors of an audience.
Collaboration: The ability to work effectively with various teams to ensure audience insights are integrated into their work.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, data analytics, or related field.
5+ years of experience in audience insights, data analytics, or strategic communications.

Proven experience in building audience segments and personas based on a combination of quantitative and qualitative data.
Demonstrated experience using web analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Adobe Analytics) to track and analyze user behavior.
Hands-on experience with listening tools (e.g., Brandwatch, Sprout Social, Meltwater) to analyze brand sentiment and conversation trends.
Experience in designing and executing research projects, including writing survey questions, analyzing results, and presenting findings
